Associate Pastor – Chaz Snyder

The following announcement was made during morning worship on Sunday, March 17 by Bob Snyder, Vice Chair of the Calvary Moravian Church Board of Elders:

Over the past few months the Joint Board has been engaged in the call process for an Associate Pastor as part of our strategic plan. We appreciate your prayers and support for us during this time.

Today I am pleased to announce that, at the joint boards’ request, the Provincial Elders’ Conference has extended a call that has been accepted by the Rev. Chaz Snider who currently serves as pastor of Ardmore Moravian Church.

Chaz grew up in Charlotte. He received his B.A. in sociology and religious studies from Appalachian State University, his Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and his graduate certificate in Moravian Studies from Moravian Theological Seminary.

In his eight-year ministry, Chaz has served at Little Church on the Lane in Charlotte as director of youth and college ministries, at Covenant Presbyterian (also in Charlotte) as director of middle school ministry, at Harrison United Methodist (in Pineville) as director of youth ministry, and most recently at Ardmore Moravian as pastor.

In addition to serving on various Moravian committees, Chaz has served as vice-chairman of the Salem Congregation and was just elected chairman in January of this year. Chaz has also served as a board member of the Health Guidance organization and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ Faith Summit.

Chaz and his wife, Michaleh, live here in Winston-Salem, and they have three children: Christopher (age 15), Abby (age 13), and Sara (age 5).

Chaz will be concluding his ministry at Ardmore Church on April 21 and will be installed at Calvary on Sunday, May 5 during morning worship.

We know you will join with the members of the joint boards in preparing to welcome Chaz as Associate Pastor. We invite you to pray for Chaz and his family, for the Ardmore congregation, and for our congregation during this time of transition and new beginnings.
